For years, NAIOP has been an influential force in the creation of policy and legislation affecting the real estate and development industry, and has lobbied to protect the rights of property owners. NAIOP's Gavel Program has helped keep NAIOP at the forefront of the political debate.
Gavel Members are a select group of the area's leading real estate companies and associate firms that service the real estate industry in the areas of law, engineering, design, construction and finance. As a group, they address adverse legislation, promote NAIOP's views, negotiate regulations at the draft stage and work with the governor’s office to develop new policies to promote business growth. Members meet quarterly to discuss the direction and policy of NAIOP’s legislative agenda.
While NAIOP's general membership dues and programs support most of NAIOP's programs, they do not cover the costs associated with regulatory and legislative activity. NAIOP's Gavel Membership designation helps fund these efforts and offers opportunities to help influence shape NAIOP's future.
