Community Enhancement Project
The Washington State Chapter of NAIOP has received considerable regional and national recognition for its annual Community Enhancement project. This involves a daylong public service project that has drawn an estimated 350 plus volunteers each of the last few years. Over the past decade or so, projects have included work on sprucing up elementary schools, a YMCA camp, youth social service centers, a stream recovery project, a horse riding facility for the handicapped.

Developing Leaders
NAIOP's Developing Leaders offer structured networking events that give industry professionals an opportunity to meet and develop working relationships in a relaxed atmosphere.

Influence
The Washington State Chapter of NAIOP helps to focus the individual needs of its members on common goals.  Among other means of accomplishing this objective, NAIOP maintains a strong voice for real estate interests in the regulatory and legislative arenas.

NAIOP cannot fund the costs to provide this essential service through the limited revenues generated by its annual local membership dues and program revenues.  To keep NAIOP in the forefront of the political debate, the Chapter established the "Gavel Membership" designation.  Gavel members consist of a select group of the area's leading real estate companies and those associate firms that service the real estate industry in the areas of law, engineering, design, construction, and finance.

Gavel members are afforded an even closer look at emerging legislative and regulatory issues. Gavel members meet quarterly, often with government leaders, to discuss the direction and policies of NAIOP's legislative agenda.  These exclusive meetings are designed to provide Gavel members the opportunity to meet and discuss the current political climate with other leaders in the industry.

In addition to Gavel Membership NAIOP offers other communication vehicles to stay up-to-date on current legisltation or initiatives affecting Commercial Real Estate both locally and Nationally.

Real Estate Challenge

The NAIOP Real Estate Challenge is a competition among the students from the University of Washington, Washington State University and the University of British Columbia in Vancouver.
The Challenge is sponsored by professionals in the real estate and development community and is supported by the respective local chapters of the NAIOP. The competitive teams will have an opportunity to interact with industry professionals as they create a development proposal for a real-world project. The proposals will be judged by a panel that will represent a potential joint venture capital partner and the public sector land owners.
To help support these students in their drive to be the best-of-the-best in this unique course curriculum, we have developed five appropriately named sponsorship opportunities for consideration.
